The first one I ever cut was a polymer AR15 since I was a little intimidated starting with aluminum (I shouldn't have been btw). Ram's advice is solid. I used an 80% Arms jig and router to "practice" for aluminum. Nothing special. I have had OK luck so far with a custom paint job and few hundred rounds of 223 through it.
Oof. Wish I did. I only deal with aluminum but the tips I remember are, they're best used for 22lr and go slow when milling as to not melt the Polymer. That's all I can remember at the moment.
