After a recent range trip where I experienced more than one FTF on different builds, it occurred to me that I have spent very little time polishing the feed ramps on my barrels. Mostly, I've done a quick once over and called it good.
However, after these FTF's I'm considering going back and really hitting them good. Most of my barrels are ZP in a variety of finishes...silver, TiN, DLC. Maybe taking them to the point of removing any finish on the feed ramp.
The ammo I used was Blazer brass, 124 gr, so nothing unusual there.
Opinions?
Never hurts to polish the feed rams. I usually take it down to the steel, hit it with some wet fine grit sand paper then polish to a shine.
Incidentally, most of the FTF's were on the first or second round, so it could be just a wear-in thing.
