Let me warn you that this is not a short post, but it is filled with my strategy to nearly always win when a flash sale or rare part restocking goes live. Notice I said, "nearly always". If you choose to not read this entire post and you fail at getting what you wanted at the flash sale, well... Also, if it doesn't work then it is what it is. It probably won't work for me one day but not likely. With that being said, let's get into it.
First you'll want to go to the site that the sale will be on and register for a customer account with a password. You can do this in any way you choose.
1) Be signed in to the site where the flash sale will be presented.
2) Have a complete customer profile filled out. Full legal name, credit card or Paypal information, billing address, shipping address. Under the stress of time and adrenaline you are more likely to mess up manually entering this information. In most cases billing and shipping must be the same (MDX Arms) to complete the transaction. I've even seen it where they also have to match the address listed on your credit card so double check to make sure you're good there.
3) If you have or will have a coupon code to apply make sure you know where to input the code before the sale goes live. Most of you know that when these sales go live, seconds count. which leads me to step 4.
4) Do a dry run before the sale begin. Sign into the site with your account, add something to your cart and go through all the screens up until the "Place order" screen (making sure you add the code or at least know where you must add it). If everything looks good then you should be ready for sale time. BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!
5) If you can add the items you wish to purchase to your cart and wait for the sale to go live then do so. You'll be set to get in and out in less than a minute. If not (as with the MDX Strike 80 flash sales) then see step 6.
6) Sign into your account as in step 5 and then open a browser for each item you wish to purchase. Also open an additional browser window to be used as a refresh window (this is very important so you don't waste⁷ valuable seconds). Here's exactly how I was able to process my Strike 80 purchase with MDX using my smart phone in less than 30 seconds:
a) I completed steps 1-4 hours before going live b) I opened 3 browser windows. One for a black frame, one for an FDE frame and one strictly to refresh since we had no idea what time the sale would actually start (yes I plugged my phone up and hit refresh for 3 continuous hours until it went live. I didn't want to miss it). c) As soon as the sale went live I immediately added a black frame to the cart. Not waiting for that browser to refresh, I went to the 2nd browser and added an FDE frame to the cart. Now I went to the last browser and clicked the cart. BOOOM!!!! both frames in the cart ready to go. d) I added the coupon code, clicked "apply" and clicked "checkout" (10 seconds). Now because I had completely filled out my account info everything self populated and all I had to hit was "Continue". NOTE: Some vendors will have you start to fill out the billing but if you have your info in your Google account, or whatever the equivalent is in Apple land, (see added tips at end) then a menu list will pop up and you can simply click the correct listing and the entire billing section will populate. Some sites will also have3 a check box that will say "Billing address same as shipping". Hit it and keep moving. e) At this point (20 seconds) I confirmed I had entered the promo code, clicked my prefered payment method (already in my account info) and clicked "Place Order". Confirmation screen popped and "Bobs your uncle. (30 to 40 seconds depending on how long it takes for screens to refresh from massive traffic)
BONUS TIPS:
i) If you have a google account then turn on the self population feature and add your name, address, credit/bank/debit card most used for these purchases so you wont have to spend valuable time typing in the info every time. Under the stress of time and adrenaline you are more likely to mess up manually entering this information. ii) Bare in mind that the site server is gonna get crushed immediately by hundreds if not thousands of freedom patriots at the same time trying to purchase the same thing. Be patient once you clicked on your items or button to go to the next screen. It may take a minute or so (hopefully not that long). iii) There may be error screens that pop up. It could be because you missed something (which shouldn't happen *refer to step 4) or because the site is being overrun with traffic. Either way, Check your info and keep doing your best to move forward. iv) Enjoy the ride. If for some reason you miss the flash sale, be easy. Don't cry over spilled milk. Hope that there's another one in the near future that you will be more prepared to take advantage of.
I hope this helps someone get the freedom tools we all deserve. Learn, Innovate, Share RAMjetta out! BOOOOOM!!!
