I have been Building or just customizing gun for a long time but when these 80% stuff came out It really got me hooked on custom stuff. My goal is to build that one-of-a-kind build that nobody else has. When someone sees one of my frames, I want them to say (that's a Hawkeye build) So, what do you think is a custom build should be? Frame mods? up-grade parts? Stippling? Paint? When I spend a month or longer just doing the custom part of building, I feel like it's part of me and reflects the vision that came to me at the time I started the planning, and the planning may as long as a year. (Just try planning a PF45) I have three Lonewolf builds in the planning stage for over a year now. The steps I do very some, but first thing is to get all the parts and then build. Make sure the pistol functions correctly. Then the fun starts, take it apart and start mods on the frame. Frame mods very depending on the vision for the build. Frame mods: First, I get rid of all the sharp edges and that stupid step on the barrel end, it just looks cheap! Next, I get rid of that square trigger guard, I hate the look and feel for it. It just doesn't fit my hands. Then I increase the finger cut. These are the Bacic mods I start with, sometimes I do away with the rail by removing or filling in. I think all P-80s need an aluminum magwell for a better balance, and love the look of a molded in magwell, it just makes the build look solid and not just added parts. This is just part of what is done to my builds to make them a one-of-a-kind custom. Maybe later if there is an interest in some other custom things I do we can talk about, grip mods including stippling or etching, and the final custom step Painting.

I too want all my builds to be one of a kind works of art that only I own (like Copperhead). 20210424_175420.jpg I purposely look for and pay way more fore slides that very few have in paint or coating schemes that I've never seen. That's why I started building. That's why my channel exists. And let's not talk about planning. This is the cabinet of working builds 20220313_091620.jpg And this is two redesigns (matching G19 and .300 Blackout) that's been on the table waiting to be built for the better part of a year because it needs to be repainted (and silly me decided to build my own paint shop not know how expensive and time consuming that would be. Ugh!). 20220313_091631.jpg So custom to me is anything you can think of to make it your own. It doesn't have to be "Gucci". It could be something as simple as matching your pins with your barrel or rattle can camo or WHATEVER came out of your imagination no matter the inspiration. Someone building a P80 od redesigning their stock firearm makes it custom. Just my 2 cents. Im not at this level; but something you take your own list of parts, have a vision of from the outset, and YOU create is 1-of-a-kind & custom. To me, that’s what it’s about: creating something that’s one of a kind & takes what stock is & evelates what the original was to a far greater level. My focus is on adding robustness, abuse-proofing things, and enhancing the feel & useability through parts that enhance ergonomics & generally aid a shooter. Things like enhanced visibility sights & extended magazine releases make a firearm work better for me; a great barrel & trigger do too. I love the idea of taking something thats great, and then making one that is unique, & enhancing everything about it.

I could do a lot with that set-up, good thing I'm broke I wonder why they used a stock slide in their picture, I guess a slide to match is coming next. What I am talking about is the way the slide has a radius, and the comp has a bevel, they don't match Yeah I'm trying to figure out what kind of nose with fit that thing. It doesn't look like the slide I have in mind will fit it but I'm gonna contact them and see what they have in mind and what in those pics cause that aint no stock Glock slide.

This is the stuff that gets me excited, yea putting one together is fun and challenging, but once you get that down what's next? The custom stuff!! Just think about it RAMjetta, once you have a painting set up the ideas that come to you will be overwhelming. I think your CopperHead is one of the best custom builds I have ever seen. I'm jealous, You can up with the CopperHead before I did Hell that's not including the 8 raw frames I sent to @We4ponXYZ to etch custom JMD series numbers on the plates.my wife would have a heart attack if she really knew the amount of builds I have in the pipeline. New shit keeps coming out that I just have to have. Have you see the "Ramjet" barrel and "Afterburner" mini comp coming out
Wooooooweeee! Expensive as hell but I gotta have it!
