I have been Building or just customizing gun for a long time but when these 80% stuff came out It really got me hooked on custom stuff. My goal is to build that one-of-a-kind build that nobody else has. When someone sees one of my frames, I want them to say (that's a Hawkeye build) So, what do you think is a custom build should be? Frame mods? up-grade parts? Stippling? Paint? When I spend a month or longer just doing the custom part of building, I feel like it's part of me and reflects the vision that came to me at the time I started the planning, and the planning may as long as a year. (Just try planning a PF45) I have three Lonewolf builds in the planning stage for over a year now. The steps I do very some, but first thing is to get all the parts and then build. Make sure the pistol functions correctly. Then the fun starts, take it apart and start mods on the frame. Frame mods very depending on the vision for the build. Frame mods: First, I get rid of all the sharp edges and that stupid step on the barrel end, it just looks cheap! Next, I get rid of that square trigger guard, I hate the look and feel for it. It just doesn't fit my hands. Then I increase the finger cut. These are the Bacic mods I start with, sometimes I do away with the rail by removing or filling in. I think all P-80s need an aluminum magwell for a better balance, and love the look of a molded in magwell, it just makes the build look solid and not just added parts. This is just part of what is done to my builds to make them a one-of-a-kind custom. Maybe later if there is an interest in some other custom things I do we can talk about, grip mods including stippling or etching, and the final custom step Painting.
