These things have GOT to get outta my builds. I've looked around a little but can't seem to find a decent replacement other than the Glock OEM standard release. I've seen where some people have just cut the extended one down and did various things like smoothing, stippling, grooving. But I'd really like to have one that sits lower but has a bigger pad that comes closer to the rear because my thumb doesn't quite reach comfortably. Any ideas?

OK I did a right up in resources if you want to check it out. It's not as hard as it sounds, I only scraped one Tyrant mag release, that is where I learned that the modifying the cannel in the mag release has to be the same size as the original slot, if not it fits to tight because its in a bind from the spring tension.

Thanks!!! If I can do it, I'll switch to the Tyrant release.

by madams117 » Thu Mar 10, 2022 9:46 pm Me personally, I prefer extended mag releases. Especially on my G26. I have to change my grip too much with the OEM release. Try Ghost Inc. I bought one of their extended releases to try out that has a big pad on it, but I think the other release they offer might be standard with a big pad as well?

Wow! You guys must have some really small hands. Anyway, I was also going to suggest the Strike Industries moduler release. There are others out there with larger pads but can't think of them right now as I've never had that problem with my large oven mitts lol. I'll keep my eyes out for some. JettaMan OUT! (I actually enjoy the extended mag releases. Makes for faster reloads with little effort)
JettaMan OUT!
by Johnny5617 » Tue Mar 08, 2022 4:11 am Are you only talking about the oem extended magazine release? Not sure what model your talking about, but I have the same problem not being able to reach the release without really switching up my grip. Same problem with the slide stop too. Have you tried a modular extended release? I got 2 builds I'm starting right now and went with the Strike Industries Modular extended magazine release, and the Sure Shot extended slide stop. Im hoping they work well. Glock store offers a few different ones, and I think Ghost also has one. Hope this helps!!
