Got my son excited about building him a pistol. He did 90% of all the work. All I did was explain how to do it and he went from there. Very seldom did I have to show him first. Proud papa here. Now he is talking about wanting to do another one. Guess we will see after the range tomorrow. We did order a slide combo from 80P and ended up having nothing but issues with their upper parts kit. Glad I had a full OEM just waiting for him to use it. LOL. Functions great all safety checks done. Range day tomorrow now to see how it performs.

I like the slide only thing we had to mess with is there was a little machining debris in the plunger channel from the threading of the optic screws. The barrel color is awesome for the gold lovers. Like everyone says stick with OEM parts. The upper parts kit it came with was junk. Going over function checks we had nothing but issues. Came with a mim striker and generic springs. The channel liner and spring cups were out of spec. I told him to throw it in the trash. Lucky I had OEM parts I WAS going to use for my 940CL build. I also gave him my Rook rear rails and locking block for his build. I told him he had to fit a set of rails just to appreciate and why I spend money on Rooks rails. Still need to orders in a SCA magwell for it. Then maybe optics if he wants. But he already wants to get started on another. We are just getting ready to head to the range to test it out. I will post some pics when we get back. Yeah, I've run into that exact problem with crap left in the plunger channel. Even little bits of metal protruding into the channel from tapping the screw holes. I make it a point to check that on every build now.

I picked up a 5x lighted magnifying glass with stand from Amazon, it really helped my old eyes. It makes fine detail work a lot easier. But I doubt your son has that problem.

Your son looks like a natural working with the Dremel. Build looks good, love that barrel.
