by madams117 » Mon May 23, 2022 7:44 pm Now that I have a slide, I need to get a barrel so I can finish up everything and start the function testing process. I'm looking for a threaded barrel via Google and found Swenson, Bear Creek Asenal, Combat Armory, and a few others. All are on the low end price wise, but all have good reviews. I currently have a Bear Creek barrel on my SBR, and it performs great. I've also looked at some barrels in the slightly higher range, like SilencerCo, Lone Wolf, Grey Ghost Precision, and some others. I know some things you shouldn't skimp on, but I'm also on a tight budget. I can always upgrade later as well, like I just did with my SBR. Thanks in advance. I really do appreciate and value everyone's opinions and help. This community is awesome and I couldn't be happier to be a part of it.

The 'X' cut on top of the chamber and the ninex19 logo on the side of the square chamber and the hexagonal flutes are absolutely gorgeous and the barrels shoot amazing. They are one hell of a bargain. Its really a damn shame they did away with the Gen 1 chamber design and went to the Gen 2 design i dont like them near as much. I feel really fortunate to have found a gen 1 threaded barrel. I absolutely have been coveting one of these since the day i started my build. I felt like it was a dream and i needed someone to pinch me when i found this barrel. Sexy

We all start with what we can afford. After you get a few builds complete, then upgrade with quality parts. That gives you a bunch of start-up parts for another build. I would all ways look for a match barrel and yes, I have a few Swenson, threaded and unthreaded barrels. They shoot fine but I wouldn't shoot competition with them. Without going and counting I would say the barrels I have the most of are Lone Wolf.
by 1791 bill of rights » Fri Jun 10, 2022 11:51 pm BCA makes some shitty uppers goes I have way more respect for combat plus they have more options PS 7.62x39 i sent it back twice the third time i sent it back I did a forced refund because they refused to do it. I got my money they got their non functional thing. I got a Gorilla machining and haven't had a problem. Gorilla makes 9mm barrels too lone wolf is great too. then you got USPA just dont get their UPK and don't get lone wolf parts kits either

It did add a lot of time to my sourcing of parts, but i sure love what i built.

Between them i have two Agency Arms barrels & one Ninex19 barrel. Very, very happy with both.

I have a thread protector I can trade however you would have to rattlecan it if you wanted black. I received one (Chameleon) from Combat Armory that was way off from the Chameleon barrel I purchased. Mike just told me to keep it when he sent the correct one.

by madams117 » Thu May 26, 2022 6:43 am Thanks everyone. I just ordered the Bear Creek barrel. The website had all positive reviews too! Kinda sucks you have to buy the thread protector separately, but no big deal.

As said above, Bear Creek and Combat Armory are good to go. I have BCA on one of my .300 blackout and two 9mm Combat Armory barrels. I'm about tho order 2 G17 Threaded from Combat armory for a CL and an OEM frame.

Bear Creek and Combat Armory both have their G17 threaded barrels on sale this week. Both very economical. $39 for Combat Armory and $5X.00 for Bear Creek. Free shipping and no tax at Beer Creek if you don't live in North Carolina. That's cheap enough that you could buy both brands and still be just under $100 shipped to your door. Two barrels and one as backup if the other sucks. That is a risk I would take. To be honest, I don't think it's a risk. I don't know much about Combat Armory barrels, but I do have a Bear Creek Stainless threaded barrel on a G17 Poly 80 build. It has run out of the box with zero miss-feeds with four or five brands of ammo now. You can read more about my G17 build here: viewtopic.php?t=410
