One thing that bugs me, is when a slide nose does not match the nose on the frame. I try to fix this on all my builds for a full match. For me if you are going to go though all the steps to make a custom build it needs to look like a full match.
So here is what I am talking about:

This build I am using an Advantage Arns 22LR conversion slide. There is now way to say it but they are boxy looking with no pop, and the nose does not match the nose of a LW or a P80. I have to fit this.

One is a LW and the other is a P80 that is getting a makeover (more to come about this one)
When I am fixing small spots that is hard to get tape to shape, I like to use clay. I just build up a deep well for JB Weld to sit and not run all over the place. Clay never gets hard and can be used over and over again. One thing about JB Weld is it is easy to remove after it sits up, so I am not worried about using too much. Just take some burrs and cut excess down to the point that you can sand it to shape.

Clay just pulls off and don't worry about ant left, it will come off as you remove JB Weld.

I start off with a big burr to ruff out.

Then I use a smaller burr.

Then I use a diamond burr for shaping before I start sanding.

Now my slide nose matches my frame nose.
