by JEFFRO » Sat Oct 01, 2022 2:51 pmYeah I have done a couple - it's the anodized finishes that are a fight to get a good etch. I'm going to try and be more aggressive with the EZoff to get down to bare metal.
I am going to do some etching in the next few weeks and will do some more detailed etching stuff.WE4PONXYZ does some nice etching too. If all you want to do is Serial numbers etching is really easy and cheap.
JEFFRO wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 5:15 pmAnd to clarify, I have tried to etch a couple. That works ok but:
Having trouble getting a good etch on anodized lowers (trying the EZ-Off thing)
Would like to get some markings on Polymer frames
The one drawback I have seen in etching large artwork is holding an even flat etch.If I could afford one, I would get a laser or even a small cnc machine center would be awesome to play with.I have seen some cheap stuff on amazon from $125 and up but I have no experience with these small hobby cnc.Check this place out of quality hobby stuff. I use them now and then when looking for new tools.Micro Markhttps://www.micromark.com/?msclkid=c9bb ... sspellings

Thanks Hawkeye will check them out. I don't want to do more than put serial numbers, caliber markings, etc. on ar lowers and p80s.
