I thought I would add some tips to our new stippling tactics.
On this new build I thought I would try my hand at HS Boarders so here is what I came up with for this style of boarders around your stippling job.

This is the boarder I have so far. It still needs some sanding and polish that I will do when I get everything ready for paint.

Here are the tools I used to create my boarder.
1) these are diamond burs that have a revers angle in different angles.
I use these first to lay out my pattern. By using this type of bit, you get a heavy line on the outside of the border but an angled line inward. This lays out a path for your next step.
2) These are used on the next step. they are ball diamond burs. I use the small one first to follow the lines of the border I have laid out all ready. By having the pattern laid out, this makes it easy to follow, just use the outside pattern (heavy lines) as use guide
3&4) I use these a lot in doing mods, they are rubber wheels that have ceramic dust imbedded to give them grit for polishing. Pink 80 grit, purple 320 grit. The best part in using these are you can shape them to any size you need by running them over a rough stone. I use a piece of cinder block for shaping them to the size I need for polishing the HD Border.
I will do some more polishing before paint. My plan is, making this build a type of battle warn look with two colors. First will be Antic Brass or gold (I have to see what is on hand) and a second coat of Black Chrome. This way I will have my HD Border painted in the first step so I can mask it off before the next coat of paint. Everything will be completed and painted before I start stippling. We will see if this all comes together. I will show what happens no matter what so we all can learn what we can do and what not to do again.
