When I was younger and did more hunting than I do now. I had a Remington 700 30-06 with the Leopold 3 and a 1/2 by 10 by 50 Scope. Well somebody wanted it more than I did and it was stolen. I'm in the market for new gun, so what are some of your suggestions as far as manufacturer. I've been leaning towards the Browning X bolt.

I've got an X-Bolt in 300 WSM with a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x50. Pretty good rifle. Light, quick, accurate (with the right ammo. I'm still working up loads). MOA out to 300 yds.
I can't quite get good enough out at 600 yds with this scope, but it's a damn good scope at under 400 yds. Need something in the 3-24 range for 600. Also, the barrel might be a little bit whippy, but that's just a guess and doesn't factor under 400.
Good enough to drop this bad boy with one shot. But gave him an extra just to make sure. Cuz they're mean.
The rifle that's been on my wishlist for a while is the Remington 700 SPS Tactical AAC-SD in 308 Win.
