Back from the range after a quick stop at my local gun shop to purchase an OEM extended slide release.
Range trip was great and I'm pleased to announce that after swapping the Tyrant slide release out for an OEM, the SCT-19 build functions flawlessly!!! On the first three mags, the slide locked back every single round. I was shooting with gloves on, so I thought maybe I was riding the release. Took the gloves off and the next 2-3 mags had slide lock on two rounds per mag. I ran several mags afterwards with zero issues, including the initial mags that had the slide lock issue. I thought all was well as the issue seemed to have gone away, but it came back. I started getting slide lock on several rounds using several mags. Fortunately, since this is a new build, I brought plenty of parts and tools just in case anything happened. I took the Tyrant slide release out and put in a standard OEM release. Problem solved. The issue never came back. Since the standard release is horrible, I'm swapping it out with an OEM extended release. I also had a rookie moment. While shooting I noticed one of the slide plate screws went missing at some point. I totally forgot to loctite them. Fortunately, I also had Loctite, so I took care of the remaining screw. Below is the total round count for today and it's broken down by ammo type. The defensive rounds were all shot after the slide release was swapped.
Thank you sir! I buy ammo here and there when I find it on sale and get a stockpile, so I've had the ammo for a while. And of course it helps a little when your dad only buys ammo in bulk and goes to the range with you😆 I had to borrow about 5 mags worth from him to finish the range ammo portion. Testing the defense rounds definitely hurt a little though since it's so expensive, but since I haven't decided yet what I'm going to use as carry ammo, I shot a little of everything I had. And yes. Blue loctite definitely. The funny thing is that I threw it in my range bag with all my spare parts and tools. I had it the whole time and forgot all about it🤦♂️
Yep! I think I'm going to do a checklist from now on to make sure I don't forget anything. My next build will have an optic on it. Don't want that flying off!
What Mag release do you have? Nice frame, I am looking forward building mine but not sure when. Is that a Strike industry magwell on the grip? I need to start buying parts for it when I do the build and I like what you have done.
Thank you sir. Yes. It's a replacement light direct from Streamlight. Long story short, I bought a counterfeit light unknowingly. It didn't work out of the box. I sent it to Streamlight and they told me it was fake and they were sending me a brand new light. All they asked was the seller's info so they could take legal action.

Looks good my friend. Is that a replacement light? What happened with that? Let us know how it turns out...(I'm sure it will be great).
