Welp, I finally got around to installing a Timney trigger into a 940C I built a while ago. The trigger has been sitting in the parts box for about a year.
The initial install was a little fumbly and a dry run to see how it worked. Well, it sucked. But that's ok, I figured I'd have to assemble/disassemble it multiple times anyway.
So, I refreshed my knowledge base watching videos and went for the "real" install.
I used an OEM Gen 3 trigger housing, and an OEM 5.5 connector. Deburred the connector face and gave it a high polish. I also had to deburr the vertical extension and birds beak on the Timney trigger bar because they were kind of rough. But I didn't polish it because supposedly, it has some kind of anti-friction coating.
When I put it together, I used plenty of grease (I use gun butter - the red stuff) on all the friction points, and paid special attention to the positioning of the return spring and mag release spring.
Well, let me tell you...I'm VERY impressed! This trigger is awesome. Consistent 3# pull, slight take-up to a crisp clean breaking wall. Very, very close to a 1911 trigger. The reset leaves just a little bit to be desired, it's slightly lazy. But I think that can be corrected by tweaking the connector a little bit.
Now, I'm really curious to try out Johnny Glocks Combat conversion kit for the Timney trigger. Mostly to see what he does, some of which I can ascertain from the pictures, but also to see just how good this can get!
After installing this trigger, I don't know if I'll be satisfied with any of my other triggers no matter how good they are. The Timney is a whole different animal.
I may end up having a whole pile of RP trigger shoes (VEX F3) for sale!

Dude. Sounds good and looks great. My latest build that should be unveiled soon has the Glock Performance Trigger with Vex F3 shoe and a Ghost Inc Angel 3.0 connector. Zero take up, zero wall and very short reset. Flawless. I may have to grab a timney to see if it can compare.
